Waszyngton dawno nie przeżywał takiego oblężenia. Z całych Stanów zjechała cała masa ludzi, którzy chcieli pokazać swoje poparcie dla nowego (prawie) prezydenta USA - Baracka Obamy.

 

 

Barack Obama ma bardzo dużą grupę zwolenników pośród amerykańskich celebrytów. U nas coś takiego nie byłoby możliwe. Przynajmniej na razie.

 

Usher (właściwie Usher Raymond IV ur. 14 października 1978 roku w Chattanooga, Tennessee w Stanach Zjednoczonych) - amerykański piosenkarz i aktor, szczególnie popularny jako wykonawca muzyki R&B. W swej kilkunastoletniej karierze szczyt popularności osiągnął w 2004 wraz z płytą Confessions.

Usher zadebiutował w roku 1994 płytą nazwaną krótko Usher, której producentem był inny znany wykonawca Puff Daddy. Zabłysnął jednak dopiero drugą płytą - My Way (1997). Trzy ze znajdujących się na płycie utworów: „You Make Me Wanna”, „Nice & Slow” oraz „My Way” dotarły do pierwszej trójki US Hot 100, torując mu drogę do dalszej kariery. Skompletowany na kolejną płytę materiał wyciekł do sieci Napster i nigdy się nie ukazał. W 2001 roku wydał jednak kolejną niezwykle udaną płytę 8701, której jeden z utworów - U Remind Me dał mu w 2002 roku nagrodę Grammy w kategorii najlepszego męskiego występu wokalnego R&B. W (2004) ukazała się kolejna płyta Confessions z najbardziej popularnym z jego utworów - Yeah!. Piosenka ta, w której usłyszeć można także Lil Jona i Ludacrisa, znalazła się na pierwszym miejscu wszystkich większych list przebojów a na amerykańskiej US Hot 100 utrzymywała tę pozycję przez dwanaście tygodni.

Los Angeles Times uznało go największym wykonawcą muzyki Pop roku 2005. Na liście sporządzona przez 21 wpływowych figur muzyki w Stanach, takich jak Jermaine Dupri, Rick Rubin czy Russell Simmons wyprzedził m.in. Eminema i Alicię Keys oraz grupę Coldplay.

Usher w swojej karierze wystąpił w ośmiu filmach (dziewiąty, The Ballad of Walter Holmes został zapowiedziany na rok 2006), m.in. w The Faculty (1998) oraz Light It Up (1999). Grał także szereg epizodycznych ról w serialach telewizyjnych.

26.11.2007r. - Usher został ojcem, jego narzeczona Tameka urodziła syna, który otrzymał imiona Usher Raymmond V.

4 lata po wydaniu klasyka rnb „Confessions” Usher powrócił z kolejnym świetnym projektem pod postacią płyty o nazwie „Here I Stand”. Singlami promującymi album są „Love In This Club” z gościnnym udziałem rappera z Atlanty Young Jeezy’ego oraz „Moving Mountains”. Na liście gości znajdują się tacy wykonawcy jak Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, Beyonce i Young Jeezy.

10.12.2008r. urodził mu się drugi syn - Naviyd Ely Raymond.

W grudniu 2009 roku miał być wydany nowy album artysty, Raymond v. Raymond, jednak jego premiera została przesunięta na marzec 2010 roku (ze względu na odpowiednie przygotowanie). LP będzie nawiązywał do płyty Confessions - i wydany zostanie zaledwie kilka miesięcy po rozwodzie z Tameką. Pierwszy singiel z płyty, Papers, ukazał się w październiku 2009 roku, kolejny, Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home), dwa miesiące później.
